Configuring America Online (AOL)
For Use With VFR Internet

• First connect to VFR Internet using your usual dial-up connection.
• Once connected open your AOL software by double clicking on the AOL icon. This software is usually symbolized by the following icon:
  

• Once you have started the software your screen should look similar to the following:
  

• Now click on the word "SETUP." Your screen should now look similar to the following:
  

• Select the location you would like to edit by clicking on it. Usually this will be the word "home" as shown above.

• Now click on the words "Edit Location" and the following screen will appear:
  

• Click on the drop down box next to the word "Network:" on the left hand side of the screen and select TCP/IP.

• Next, click on the drop down box next to the word "Network:" on the right hand side of the screen and select TCP/IP.

  Your screen should now look like the following:
  

  

• Click on the word "Save."
• Your screen should be back to the following:
  

• Now click on the word "OK."

• You should be back at the following screen:
  

• You are now ready to begin using AOL with VFR Internet.

• Since you are already connected to the Internet, just click on "Sign On" and proceed with your usual AOL login procedure.

In summary, to log in to AOL using VFR Internet:

• Make the connection to VFR Internet in the usual manner.

• Once connected to VFR Internet simply open your AOL Software as you normally would. The login will take place through your connection to VFR Internet. Please note that you must use your AOL username and password to log in to AOL - don't use your VFR username and password.
